The home of Fran and Bill, The Hide is a brand new, timber framed, contemporary converted barn set in 10 acres in a beautiful, tranquil rural valley, with views of Dartmoor and only 15 mins drive to the sea. Private parking, outdoor garden spaces with seating and table. Kingsbridge, with cafes, restaurants, cinema, farmers' market and local shops is 4 miles. Avon Mill Garden Centre and cafe is a green lane 2 mile walk away. Perfect for walking, SUP boarding, fishing or just relaxing.

The Hide is in a secluded valley, in a spread out hamlet, Grimpstoneleigh. The SW Coastal path with beaches at Slapton Sands, Bigbury, Bantham and South Milton Sands, is a quarter hours drive. (Bigbury is visible from the top of the hill). Inland, south Dartmoor (South Brent, is about the same distance. Dartmouth, with regatta (August) food and art festivals and the Royal Navy is 10 miles, as is Totnes (medieval town) and Dartington, for culture and art ( Ways with Words and Summer School). And of course Beer Festivals in numerous villages!

Getting around

Cars, boats. bikes, horses, and of course walking are all recommended. There is a bus service on the main road, 1mile away. A network of green lanes and foot/bridle paths will take you to most villages within 4 miles. Parking in Kingsbridge is on street and free for an hour or in car parks (pay by RInggo App)
