Outdoor Eating

Our south-facing balcony catches the early morning sun f you fancy eating your breakfast or a daytime/evening picnic in the open air.

Another picnic or glass of wine spot is the Chestnut Table to the left of The Hide, close to the magnificent chestnut tree. Access is up stone steps or a sloping path. This spot catches the evening sun.

If you are feeling more adventurous and would like to see the sun go down in our eight acre wild patch of grasses, wild flowers, birds, butterflies and bees, the Field Bench is the place for you. It is a five minute walk along a cut grass path to the spot. Of course, if you want to explore more of the field, you are very welcome.

ART

The Hide is owned by Bill and Fran. It was their dream to build an eco home with an art studio included. What was a wooden storage barn has been converted into a modern living space for Fran’s paintings whilst retaining the front appearance of the barn, albeit with a modern touch.

You will see Fran’s paintings and drawings https://www.francesgynn.co.uk/ on most walls! If you would like to see her studio, please ask. We welcome anyone wishing to take an easel into the garden or wild meadow to splash some paint or sketch.
